Deploy custom print Font to Zebra printers
Zebra printers are widely used to print labels, receipts, wristbands, tags, and other essential business documents. In environments like retail, warehousing, healthcare, and global logistics, choosing fonts that match the type of content being printed, like product names, barcodes, or text in different languages, helps make prints clear and consistent. Custom fonts allow Zebra printers to support the specific text styles or language requirements needed for different types of prints.
Why deploy custom print fonts to Zebra printers?
Many organizations require their prints to adhere to a specific style or format, whether it is to match a brand’s style, display special characters, or print in different languages. The default fonts on Zebra printers may not always support these requirements.
By deploying custom fonts to the Zebra printer, the fonts are stored on the device. This means the printer can use them for every print job, no matter which computer, app, or system sends the print. Since the font is stored on the printer, it doesn’t rely on the connected device to provide it for each print job, helping ensure uniform results every time.
This approach benefits teams across different environments. For example, a retail store can print receipts or tags in its brand font, a warehouse can produce bold, easy-to-read shipping labels or barcodes for quick scanning, and a global business can print documents or tags in multiple languages. Deploying fonts through Hexnode ensures that every printer in the organization produces consistent, accurate, and professional prints.
How to deploy custom print fonts to Zebra printers?
To deploy custom print fonts to Zebra printers:
- Login to the Hexnode UEM portal.
- Navigate to Manage > Devices.
- Select the Zebra printer to which you want to deploy the fonts.
- Go to Actions > Deployments > Deploy Fonts.
- Enable Delete existing files from device option if you want to remove older files with the same name from the printer before deploying the new ones.
- Upload the font files either from your local device or from the Hexnode repository and click Done.
What happens after executing the Deploy Fonts action?
After the action is executed, the deployed font is saved on the Zebra printer. During printing, the user can select the deployed font, and the printer will print the content using that font.
FAQs:
- Will deploying custom fonts affect the existing printing setup?
No. Existing print jobs and templates continue to work as usual. Custom fonts simply become additional options.
- Are there limits to the number of fonts a printer can store?
The limit depends on the printer model and its memory capacity. Check the specifications for your model to avoid memory overload.
- Can custom fonts include special symbols or icons?
Fonts that include special characters, symbols, or non-Latin scripts can be deployed, if the printer supports them.
