How to set up File Repository for Content Management?
Hexnode’s Content Management system allows organizations to securely store, manage, and distribute corporate data from a centralized location. By using the Hexnode File Repository, administrators can ensure seamless access to essential files, boosting productivity without compromising data security.
Key Capabilities

File Operations
All repository actions are managed via the Content tab in the Hexnode UEM portal.
Adding Files
- Navigate to Content > My Files.
- Click Add and select the target file.
- Enter the File Name and Version.
- Click Save.
Downloading Files
- Go to Content > My Files.
- Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon next to the file name and select Delete.
Modifying & Version Control
Hexnode supports versioning, allowing you to update files or revert to older versions.
- To Update: Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon next to the file name → Choose File → Enter Name/Version → Save.
- To Revert: Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon next to the file name -> select Version History → Enter the desired version → Save.
If an updated file uses an unsupported format, it will be removed from the following associated policies:
- Kiosk Screensaver
- Kiosk File Shortcut
- Digital Signage
- Boot Animation
- Website Kiosk Wallpaper
- Deploy Custom Configuration
Deleting Files
- Select the file(s) in Content > My Files.
- Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon next to the file name -> Delete.
- Confirm the action.
- Enter your Portal Password and click Confirm.
Deletion removes the file and all previous versions from associated policies. However, files already on the end device will remain if they were moved from the policy-specified location.
All repository actions (addition, editing, downloading, deletion) are logged for security compliance.
- Path: Reports > Audit > Audit History.
- Data Recorded: Event time, module, and the technician’s name.
