How to Remove Apps from Apple TV using Hexnode MDM

Sometimes apps might require to be removed if you no longer need the app to be present on your device. With Hexnode MDM, you can initiate commands from the MDM console to remotely remove apps from your Apple TV.

Note:

While changing the ownership of the device, mandatory apps assigned to the previous owner will be removed from the devices and the device ownership is assigned to the new owner.

Remove Apps from a single device

  1. Navigate to Manage > Devices.
  2. Click on the device from which app is to be removed. This takes you to the device summary page.
  3. Click on Applications tab. Here, you will see the complete list of applications deployed on that specific device.
  4. Click on the gear icon corresponding the app to be removed and select Uninstall App.




Once clicked, a command is sent immediately to the device to start uninstalling the app and the apps will be removed successfully.

Remove Apps from the device via Uninstall Application

You can force uninstallation of an app from one or more devices by following the steps mentioned below.

To Uninstall App from a single device

  1. Navigate to Manage > Devices.
  2. Click on the device from which app is to be removed. This takes you to the device summary page.
  3. Click on Actions > Uninstall Application.
  4. Find the app to be removed from the app inventory and click on Done.



To Uninstall App from multiple devices

  1. Navigate to Manage > Devices.
  2. Select the devices from which app is to be removed.
  3. Click on Manage > Uninstall Application.
  4. Find the app to be removed from the app inventory and click on Done.
