Restart print server and network card on Zebra Printers
How does the Restart Network Interface remote action work on Zebra printers?
This action restarts the printer’s network interface card (NIC) and print server (both wired and wireless). The NIC is a hardware component that enables the printer to communicate over a network. When this action is executed, the printer ends its current network session, refreshes the network modules, and reconnects to the configured network.
How to reset print server and network card using Hexnode UEM?
To reset print server and network card remotely,
- Log in to your Hexnode UEM portal.
- Go to the Manage tab.
- Select the required device to open the Device Summary page.
- Select Actions > Device Control > Restart Network Interface.
- Click Done in the confirmation dialog.
To execute reset print server and network card in bulk,
- Navigate to Manage > Devices.
- Choose the devices on which you want to reset the print server and network card.
- Select Restart Network Interface from Actions > Device Control.
- Click Done in the confirmation dialog.
Once the remote action is executed, the Zebra printer ends its active network session, restarts the network modules, and reconnects to the network.
When is it recommended to use the Restart Network Interface remote action?
Use this action whenever the Zebra printer becomes unreachable on the network, struggles to maintain a stable connection with Hexnode, or fails to receive print jobs due to network interruptions.
Does the Restart Network Interface remote action reboot the whole printer?
No. Unlike a full restart, this action targets only the network-related components. The printer’s core functions and ongoing operations remain unaffected, making this a quick way to restore network connectivity. If you want to reboot the entire printer, use the Restart device remote action.
