Hi, I saw that Hexnode will now support LAPS for both Windows and macOS under a unified console. Can someone explain how this works in practice? https://www.hexnode.com/forums/topic/macos-laps-is-almost-here/
We’re bringing LAPS to macOS, extending local administrator password management beyond Windows. With macOS LAPS, Hexnode helps secure local admin access by automatically rotating administrator passwords and reducing the risk of reused or long lived credentials. What to expect: Basic LAPS A ready to use setup that creates and manages a local administrator account using recommended defaults. Passwords are…
Hi all, is there a way to pre‑install Hexnode UEM app on a new computer? I’d like to set it up for the user and then just ship the device to them.
Hey everyone. I’ve set up a Web App Kiosk using Hexnode Browser Lite and added my website to the allowlist. The site loads fine, but the Google login button doesn’t appear at all. Later, I switched the kiosk browser to Safari. In Safari, the Google login button shows up. But when I tap it, it…
Hi everyone, We’re managing a set of macOS devices using Hexnode UEM. One of our requirements is to restrict the use of SD cards but still allow users to access USB flash drives. Is there any way to block only SD cards on macOS while keeping USB storage enabled?
Hey all, need some help. I tried activating a Mac using the Activation Lock bypass code from Hexnode, but macOS keeps saying the code is wrong.
I am just wondering what people's strategies are for allowing a lost or stolen laptop to get online so the lost/lock command can be recieved? My thoughts are: Create a wifi policy with a specific SSID/pwrd that can set up to enable a recovered laptop to get back online so the password can be changed.…
Hi, one of our devices (MacBook Pro) got remotely locked, and now the device shows “Try again in 25177311 minutes” when attempting to enter the PIN. The Mac likely ran out of battery after the lock command was sent. Has anyone encountered this or found a workaround?
Hey folks, quick question. Is there any way to stop users from turning off Location Services on macOS? I need to make sure it stays enabled for compliance reasons, but I can’t find a straightforward option in the settings. Any ideas?
To enforce a strong password policy only for standard local user accounts, while excluding administrator accounts from the same policy enforcement.
Hello Hexnode Team, It's been a pleasure to be Hexnode customer and I'm currently using Hexnode on a daily basis to manage our MacOS devices in our environment. I have been noticed that Microsoft has released a preview of platform SSO on MacOS for Intune & EntraID. I was wondering if Hexnode is having a…
Hello, It would be nice to have a policy to limit the number of registered devices for users. For example, I would only like to limit 1 macbook per user. This way the user is not able to register another device until we remove them as owner of their current device.
My company requires Office Macros are disabled. For Winodws and MacOS, this is not a built in setting in Hexnode policies. I cannot find any Powershell scripts or batch files to run and enable this setting. Can this be built in?
We use tools to allow local user to promote to admin for a short period of time (1h), they must provide reason and this action is sent to our SIEM for monitoring. We use : Privilege (https://github.com/SAP/macOS-enterprise-privileges) for macOS MakeMeAdmin (https://github.com/pseymour/MakeMeAdmin) for Windows Now that you added local users management on Hexnode, offering a similar…
Hello Hexnode peoples, We are hoping to get a feature request placed to have the ability to use custom scripts within policies to force the installation and configuration of applications. Our use cases revolve around the need to be able to force software for security and other tools be installed on all existing, and new…
I am interested in limiting file access to certain applications, for example a video file that can only be accessed by Adobe/etc, to limit the file from being copied, uploaded anywhere else.
The system is missing support for showing the computer name, hostname, and IP address. We would like it added to the “Device Info” tab. It would also be nice if we could revert a friendly name back to the actual computer name.So that it once again follows the user's changes to the name.
I have been a long-time user of Microsoft LAPS and would like to have similar functionality in Hexnode across different operating systems. Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) is a function that prevents using the same administrative passwords across different endpoints/devices. It regularly changes the passwords and enables management software to retrieve the correct password for…
Dear Team, A slack integration could be really useful for generating alerts. All alerts and notifications can be easily notified to a channel or an IT admin.Saves the time to check emails or Hexnode dashboard. Cheers Ceetus
