Locking down iPad to single webpageSolved

Hi, we have a few iPads that need to be locked down to a specific web page (or possibly two pages once loaded).

A staff member will first sign in on the device and open a client sign-in portal from their account. Once the client portal is open, we need the iPad to lock to that page so the client cannot navigate back to previous pages or access the staff member’s account. One key requirement is that only an admin should be able to exit this mode using a PIN or password.

What would be the best way to achieve this?

Hi @zariah,

To lock the iPad to a specific web page, first create the required website(s) as Web Apps within the Hexnode portal. Then configure Web App Kiosk in a policy and select either Safari or Hexnode Browser Lite as the kiosk browser.

If access is limited to a single web page, you may configure a single web app kiosk. If two or more web apps need to be accessible, you can configure a multi web app kiosk and include only the necessary web apps. Additionally, you may allowlist specific URLs to ensure users cannot navigate beyond the approved portal.

For enhanced control over navigation and to prevent users from returning to previously accessed pages, we recommend using Hexnode Browser Lite, as it provides stricter website restrictions.

To ensure that only administrators can exit kiosk mode, configure a kiosk exit password. This can be set by navigating to Advanced Website Kiosk Settings > Kiosk Exit Settings.

The exit password will be required to leave kiosk mode, thereby preventing clients from accessing other applications or staff accounts.

Check out the help documentation on web app kiosk. Please let us know if you would like detailed configuration steps or further assistance.

We have a similar requirement. Is it possible to configure the kiosk setup so that the webpage automatically refreshes at regular intervals, such as every two minutes?

Hi @porter,

To automatically refresh the webpage at regular intervals, please navigate to Advanced Website Kiosk Settings > Scheduled Refresh under Kiosk Lockdown in iOS.

From there, you can configure the reload and refresh intervals for both the published web app and the currently loaded website, based on your requirements (for example, setting it to refresh every 2 minutes).

Please let us know if you need assistance with the configuration.
