Hi everyone, I’ve recently started using Hexnode UEM for managing our company’s Android devices. Most of our phones and tablets are standard, but a few of them don’t have the Google Play Store installed. I was wonderingcan we still install the Hexnode app as an APK on these devices? And in general, is it possible to push APK files that aren’t listed on the Play Store to our managed devices?

I think its kinda complex if you dont have the app store. I mean who in the world doesnt have one.

Thankyou for raising this question.

Hexnode UEM makes it possible to install APK files on Android phones and tablets. You can upload and distribute enterprise apps directly through the Hexnode portal by going to Apps > Enterprise Apps, adding a new Android app, selecting APK file, uploading it, and then distributing it to the required devices, users, or groups.

For devices without the Play Store but with a working camera, you can manually install the Hexnode app using its APK and then enroll using methods like QR code. Just note that Android Enterprise enrollment (Profile Owner/Work Profile) requires Google Play Services and a supported Play Store version, so those modes won’t work without them. In such cases, download the appropriate APK either the Hexnode UEM Legacy app or Hexnode for Work app—via the device’s browser, install it, and then complete enrollment with QR code or any other supported method.
