I was wondering the same actually, I’ve been fiddling with kiosk mode on our tablets and didn’t see a clear option for setting an exit password.

I ran into this last month! Thought I was setting the device PIN, but it turned out I needed to tweak the kiosk policy. Once you add the password policy to the existing kiosk setup, the device picks it up right away. Saved me a lot of headaches.
Thanks for the input, everyone. To clarify the correct steps:
-
Navigate to Policy > Kiosk Lockdown > Kiosk Exit
-
Configure the password there
-
Deploy the policy to the device
That will enforce a passcode specifically for exiting Kiosk Lockdown mode. You may refer to the below document for a better understanding:

Oh nice, I didn’t know you could set it directly under Kiosk Exit! That’s way cleaner than juggling device PINs. Makes it easier for admins to control who can break out of kiosk mode.
Yeah, but just to be clear..this doesn’t replace the device password, right? It’s only for exiting kiosk mode. I’ve seen people confuse the two and lock themselves out. Always double-check which policy you’re editing before deploying.
