One click shouldn’t change everything. A new control adds a safety layer to bulk device actions, helping teams avoid large-scale mistakes while keeping technicians free to work on individual devices.

Disable Bulk Actions Using Custom Roles

Hexnode now provides an option to limit whether technicians can execute actions on multiple devices using a permission in Custom Roles.

While creating or editing a role, the “Execute actions on multiple devices” permission can be enabled or disabled based on operational needs.

How It Works?

When enabled

  • Technicians can use the Actions button in Manage > Devices to perform actions on multiple devices.

When disabled

  • The Actions button is disabled (greyed out) when multiple devices are selected.

  • The Actions menu remains available when viewing an individual device (Manage > Devices > Select a device > Actions).

Key Benefits

  • Prevents accidental bulk actions such as wipes, locks, or policy removals.

  • Allows technicians to continue managing individual devices without restrictions.

  • Reduces the risk of high-impact errors caused by unintended bulk selections.
