Work account creation failing during Android Enterprise Device Owner enrollmentSolved

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to enroll a Redmi Note 5 (Android 8) into Android Enterprise Device Owner using afw#hexnodemdm, but the setup isn’t completing properly.

The device signs in successfully to the Hexnode app, and it appears in the Hexnode portal. Remote access also works fine. However, the work account creation step fails, and the setup doesn’t finish even after multiple attempts.

Has anyone faced something similar or found a workaround?

Yes, we’ve seen this issue too. The device enrolls and appears in the portal, but the setup stops partway through.

We had the same issue recently. A full factory reset and retry helped with a couple of devices, so you could try that if you haven’t already.

Same here. Looks like something stops the account creation from completing.

Thanks @carter , for reporting this. Please try the steps below and let us know if it resolves the issue:

  1. On the device, go to Settings > Accounts and remove any work account if present.
  2. Restart the device.
  3. Open the Hexnode app and select Configure Work Account.
  4. From the Hexnode UEM portal, select the device and execute the Scan Device action.

These steps usually help trigger the work account provisioning process.

Please update us after trying the steps.
