Hey everyone,

Where exactly can you trigger a manual password reset for Windows devices from Hexnode?

I’m also trying to figure out if there’s a way to handle password expiry better. Specifically, I want to avoid any chance of users getting locked out when their passcode expires as per policy.

Anyone dealt with this before?

Hey, @jennifer. From what I know, password expiry alone shouldn’t lock users out. They’ll just get prompted to change the password on their next login, and it’s enforced there. So, it’s more of a forced reset than a lockout situation.

Hi all! To manually trigger a password reset from the Hexnode portal, follow this path:

Manage > Devices > Select Device > Local Accounts tab Select User > Actions > Change Password

Enter the new password, re-enter it for verification, and provide a password hint. In the same window, enable the Password never expires option under the Verify Password section to prevent issues related to password expiration. This can help maintain compliance while avoiding disruptions for end users when a passcode policy is enforced.

Before rolling this out across your environment, it is recommended to test the configuration on a single device.

Thanks, @isabel_lora! But I don’t think I’m seeing that option in our portal. Am I looking in the wrong place?
