Users can’t uninstall apps on iOS devicesSolved

Hey everyone,

Bit of a strange one, our users are reporting that they can’t uninstall any apps from their iOS devices anymore. They can only remove them from the Home Screen, not actually delete them.

We haven’t restricted app removal anywhere, so I’m a bit puzzled about what to do. Can anyone help me out with this?

@elena , you could try using the Uninstall Application remote action from the Hexnode console, that should help remove any apps instantly if the devices are supervised.

The remote action works great, but that’s not what I’m aiming for…. but i want the users to be able to uninstall apps whenever they need to.

I double-checked, and I don’t remember setting anything that would block it.

Gotcha. In that case, head over to your Hexnode policies and open your existing Restriction policy. Under Advanced Restrictions > Apps section,
check if the options “Remove apps” or “Remove system apps” are enabled. If they are, that’s what’s blocking users from deleting apps. Simply uncheck those options, save the policy, and once it syncs, users should be able to uninstall apps normally again.
