Restricting screenshot and pictures download on SlackSolved

We’re enrolling iPhones using Account-driven User Enrollment in Hexnode, which creates a separate iCloud drive folder for managed data. When we install Slack as a managed app, any files (except images) are saved to the that iCloud Drive, which can’t be accessed by apps like WhatsApp and that works as expected. However, images from Slack are saved to the Photos app, which allows users to share them via WhatsApp (an unmanaged app).

We want to know if it’s possible to stop images from managed apps like Slack from being saved to the Photos app. Also, we’d like to know if it’s possible block users from taking screenshots on user enrolled devices.

Thanks!

You could look into containerization policies for separating managed data. As for restricting screenshots, it is possible in user enrolled devices, but that setting affects the entire device, not just Slack or managed apps.

I checked it out. Still, it’s possible to send photos.

Have you considered blocklisting WhatsApp? If Slack images can’t be shared there, it kind of solves the problem, right?

Hey @raelynn! Good thought, but since these are personal devices (BYOD), we don’t want to block personal apps like WhatsApp. We’re trying to protect corporate data without locking down the entire phone.
