Prevent on screen keyboardSolved

Hey all, I’m working on setting up a fleet of Samsung Galaxy tablets for a launch event coming up soon. I have already configured the tablets in kiosk mode with Hexnode, and everything is going smoothly, except that the default on-screen keyboard keeps popping up whenever someone interacts with the app. Since it’s a high-traffic event, I need to prevent this from happening.

Has anyone run into this, and do you have suggestions on how to disable the keyboard in kiosk mode?

Hi, I’d recommend trying to block the keyboard package or identifier by adding it to a blocklist, which should prevent the on-screen keyboard from showing up.

Since you’re using Samsung devices, another good option would be the Knox Service Plugin in Hexnode. It’s a great tool if you are dealing with multiple devices at once, but you will need to ensure they are enrolled in Knox.

You could also try disabling the keyboard through the peripheral settings in kiosk. That might help stop it from appearing, but I’m not sure if this works on non-rooted devices.

Yeah, but test them thoroughly since blocking the keyboard could affect user interactions if your app relies on touch inputs.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll be sure to run a few tests beforehand to make sure nothing else gets affected. Appreciate the help!
