Device restart prevented after Android OS updateSolved

I’ve scheduled OS updates to ‘Update Automatically’ on my Android device and also restricted ‘Power Off’ from the restrictions tab. After downloading the required updates and when trying to restart the device to install the updates, it says that there is a security policy preventing the device restart.

Should restricting ‘Power Off’ in Android restrictions be affecting device restart after the OS update? Is this normal behaviour?

Hey there, @Monserrat. Thank you for reaching out on Hexnode Connect!

Regarding your query, this is the expected behavior on Android devices. Associating a policy with the ‘Power Off’ restriction enabled will prevent the device from restarting, including for OS update requirements. To complete your OS upgrade, disable the above restriction and try restarting the device again.

Hope this helps. Do reach out if you’ve any further queries.

Cheers!
