Passcode protected kioskSolved

Hi folks,

One of our Android devices in kiosk mode runs a sensitive application in a location where physical security can’t really be guaranteed. Is there any way to enforce a password on the kiosk?

Also, then have the kiosk to automatically lock after a certain amount of time, or when a period of inactivity has occurred?

Thanks!

Maybe try applying a password policy to the device? I’m pretty sure that’ll help.

Rather than just adding the password policy, try pairing it with dynamic groups and geofencing. That way, the password policy can trigger automatically when the device moves in or out of a defined area.

That’s a good choice. Any thoughts on how to automatically lock the kiosk after some time?

Hi @amy_taylor, welcome to Hexnode Connect!

Adding to what @edmund and @noah-blake said, you can use the Password policy or the Set Password action to enforce a password on the device and then, for automatic locking, configure the Screen Timeout restriction or enable the Auto-lock after option under Password policy and set the desired duration after which the screen locks. If both are configured, the shorter duration will be applied as the screen timeout value.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Yeah, just make sure you don’t forget the password, or you will end up locking yourself out of the device. Been there, done that.
