Hi all,
Some of our devices are showing up as non-compliant in Hexnode because of block-listed apps. The issue is, I can’t figure out which policy or app is causing this. Any ideas on how to track it down?
Hi all,

We had the same confusion. Sometimes it’s not obvious which app is flagged. I usually check the compliance section in the device summary, but it’s not super clear unless you dig deeper.
Thanks for raising this @sybylla .
In the Manage tab, under Device Summary –> Compliance Info, you can see why a device is marked non-compliant. Each compliance check is listed, and if there’s an issue, a warning symbol appears next to the corresponding item.
For Application Compliance, two values are tracked:
Blocklisted apps: If the device has apps that are explicitly disallowed, the blocklisted app count will show with a warning symbol. Clicking it reveals the detailed list of those apps.
Missing required apps: If the device is missing apps that are mandated by policy, the missing app count will also display with a warning symbol. Clicking it shows which required apps are not installed.
This makes it clear whether non-compliance is due to blocklisted apps, missing required apps, or another compliance check flagged with a warning symbol.
For more information on compliance checks, please refer to our documentation: Why is my device marked as non-compliant in Hexnode?

Mary Romero
Ah, that red triangle tip is gold. I didn’t realize it was clickable, thought it was just an icon.
Same here! I used to waste time hunting through policies. Clicking that triangle shows the exact apps, which makes cleanup way faster.
