Device not syncing after enrollmentSolved

Hi everyone, We’ve been enrolling new devices for new users in our company, but once enrollment is complete, the MDM isn’t syncing. On the Hexnode admin centre, it shows the devices as registered to a user, but nothing is syncingno policies, updates, or check-ins. Has anyone faced this issue before?

Oh yeahI’ve seen something similar. In my case, it was the corporate Wi-Fi blocking stuff. When I tried syncing over mobile data, everything worked fine. Might be worth testing with a hotspot just to rule out network restrictions.

From what you describe, it sounds like either APNs (for Apple devices) or firewall rules are interfering.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. If you’re facing this issue, you can check for:

  1. Network & Firewall Requirements – Ensure port 5223 is open for Apple devices (APNs communication). For Android/Windows, whitelist traffic to *.hexnode.com. Try syncing via an unrestricted hotspot to confirm if the issue is network-related.

  1. APNs Certificate Status (iOS/macOS) – Check under Admin > APNs Settings in your Hexnode portal. Verify the certificate isn’t expired and was renewed with the same Apple ID originally used.

  1. Verify Device Status Locally – On one of the affected devices, open the Hexnode agent app and attempt a manual sync.

Please confirm the platform of the devices you’re enrolling so we can narrow down further troubleshooting.

Regards,
Mary Romero

Haha, classic firewall gremlins! I swear they’re behind half the issues we face. I’d definitely try the hotspot trick first..it’s the fastest way to know if your network is the culprit. Saved me a headache last month.

I agree with the  @mary_romero ’s points. In our environment, expired APNs certificates caused silent failures. Once renewed properly, sync resumed immediately. Double-check that before spending too much time on firewall rules.
