Hey everyone, I was trying to start a Remote View session on one of my devices, but instead of connecting, I got this message:

“Another remote view session is running currently in this portal. Please wait until it is finished or sign in with another user account and try again.”

Not sure why this keeps showing up. I’m a bit confused. Has anyone come across this before?

Hey @gnishilda , yeah, that message can be annoying.

First things first, check your network speed. Remote View needs a steady connection, ideally around 1 Mbps or more. An unstable network can make it act like this.

Also, end the session (if it’s stuck) and try starting it again. Works for me 8 out of 10 times.

Hey @gnishilda , adding to what @marien  said, this usually happens when another admin has already started a Remote View session on the same device, or when a previous session didn’t end properly and is still “stuck” on the server.

Happens more often than you’d think! Try checking if someone else is running a session in the background. If not, wait a minute and try again. Once the old session times out, it should work fine.

Just to add. I’d also suggest checking the device side. Make sure it’s unlocked and that you’ve granted the screen recording permission. I usually miss that step.

Also, @gnishilda , try logging out of the portal and signing in before starting the session again. If it still doesn’t connect, run Scan Device remote action from the portal to refresh its state.

Thanks, everyone! Turns out there was an old Remote View session still running in the background. Once I ended that, the new session started without any issue.

Appreciate all the help! You all saved me a headache today!
