Can Hexnode clear app cookies and cache remotely?Solved

Hello everyone,

We have an enterprise application deployed on our Samsung tablets. The app is used to store log data of research results. Each project runs for about four to six months and during that tenure, multiple iterations of data get stored within the app.

Previously, these devices were stationed within our own facility, so handling data cleanup after each project cycle was straightforward. Now, the devices are being used in a remote and distant location, which changes the dynamics completely.

Once a project concludes, the stored application data must be removed before the next cycle begins.

My question is simple in wording but critical in impact:

Is Hexnode capable of remotely clearing application cookies and cache or completely wiping the app data on these tablets?

I apologize for not being able to share more contextual details, but I believe this outlines the scenario clearly.

Looking forward to your guidance.

Hello,

Thank you for explaining the scenario clearly. From what you have described, you are essentially looking for a way to remotely remove application data from Samsung tablets once a project cycle is completed.

For Samsung Knox devices, Hexnode provides a remote action called Clear app data. This action allows administrators to remotely clear all application data associated with a specific app on the device. This includes cookies, cache, and locally stored files within that application container.

You can find detailed steps and platform requirements in our help documentation.

This approach is useful in cases where devices are deployed in remote locations and manual intervention is not feasible.

If you need any further clarification or assistance with implementation, please feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
