Hi all, we use iPads in our retail stores. Staff sometimes take photos during shifts, and storage fills up quickly. Can we clean it automatically on a regular basis?

Yeah, just put the clear media action into automation and trigger it to repeat at a set schedule.
We’re reassigning a batch of iPads to new interns. They’re full of old photos and videos from the previous users. Is there a way Hexnode can clear all that media automatically before handing them over?
Hey @nevaeh ,
Hexnode provides a Clear media action that can be automated to remove photos and videos from iOS devices. To set this up, go to the Automate tab in the portal, create a new automation, and add the Clear media action. In the Settings and Schedule section, set the trigger to on Device Enrollment. Then include your target devices in the Target Filters section, review the configuration, and save the automation.
When triggered on enrollment, the automation will wait until the Hexnode UEM app is installed on the device. At that point, the device will display a prompt through the Hexnode UEM app, and the user must acknowledge it for the deletion to proceed. This ensures the media is cleared securely with user approval, keeping the device ready for its intended use once the prompt is accepted.

I’m planning to put our iPhones in kiosk mode and include the Gallery app for staff. But I want the gallery to be cleared after getting into kiosk. Can both kiosk and media clearing be done together?
Yes, you can combine the Clear media action (to delete photos and videos) and the Associate Policy action (to apply your kiosk policy) within a single automation. In the Automate tab, create a new automation, add Clear Media, then click Add New Action and select Associate Policy to include your kiosk policy. Once both actions are added, configure the Settings and Schedule section to run them either on a recurring schedule or on activity-based triggers such as on Device Non-Compliance.
The Clear Media action requires user acknowledgment through the Hexnode UEM app prompt. To ensure this works in kiosk mode, make sure the Hexnode UEM app is included in your kiosk policy’s allowed apps list.
