Any shortcut for sound settings on macSolved

Hi all,

I recently switched from an Asus zenbook to an m2 pro running macOS sequoia 15.4.1. Loving it so far, but there’s one thing that’s been a bit annoying. I often need to switch audio inputs and outputs or adjust volume settings, and going through System Settings >> Sound each time is kind of tedious.

Is there a faster way to do it?

First of all, welcome to the Mac world, buddy!

You could actually pin the sound settings to the menu bar. Go to Control center settings and enable sound option as “Always Show in Menu Bar”.

Something else you can try, and I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Spotlight search, is to just press cmd + space to open it and search for sound. Press enter, and voila, it opens.

Can’t you use the Shortcuts app to configure some shortcuts for it?

I don’t think so, correct me if i am wrong. Once i  tried to do it for a specific setting (display) in system settings, but I couldn’t really figure out how to do it.

Later, I found out you can easily open it by option + clicking the increase or decrease brightness button a couple of times.

I think the same applies to sound settings as well. Just try option + increase sound or decrease sound or mute button (option +f10 or f11 or f12).
