Who’s starting remote sessions? How do you guys track it 🤔?Solved

Quick question for admins managing remote support.

When technicians start remote sessions on user devices, how are you keeping track of those actions? We want to make sure there’s a clear record of who accessed a device and when.

Is there a built-in way to track remote session activity?

Yes, we rely on both the Action History and the Session History for that. They’re pretty handy for troubleshooting or just reviewing past sessions.

But @im_dany , both Action History and Session History show when a session was initiated and finished, and the status — whether it was success, pending, or failed. They don’t show who actually initiated the session, so it’s limited if you want to know which technician started the remote view across multiple devices.

Hey all!

For a complete, centralized view of Remote View/Control sessionsgo to:

Reports tab > Built-in Reports > Audit Reports Remote view/control.

This gives a global audit trail of remote sessions across devices. The key details included are:

  • Subject – the entity the event happened on, like the device name

  • Event – the specific action performed, e.g., Remote view/control initiated

  • Created Time – the exact date and time the event was logged

  • Event Module – which area of the Hexnode UEM portal the event came from, like Device, Policy, or System

  • Technician – the email of the administrator who triggered the action.

This way, you can see who performed what action, on which device, and when, giving full transparency and an audit-ready record.

Best Regards,

Thanks for clarifying, really helpful

It’s good to know we have a proper way to see who triggered a remote session without guessing. Makes auditing and tracking much easier, especially for our larger team.
