I’ve been wanting to push the latest updates (v145) for the Firefox browser across my Windows and macOS systems. It’s been already pre-installed on the devices, so I’m a bit confused on how to update it through Hexnode. Is there any way for this?

Updating Firefox browser on macOS and WindowsSolved

@leo_scott the best way for you to have the latest update for the Firefox browser on your devices is to add the latest version of the Firefox browser as an Enterprise app to the Hexnode inventory, for both macOS and Windows platforms. Then you can install this version of Firefox through the Install Application remote action or through policy on the device-end. You can check out our help docs for more details on how to do this for macOS and Windows devices.
So, do I have to update the enterprise app version of the app every time Firefox releases a new version? That feels like a lot of overhead, especially since Firefox releases updates pretty frequently.
That’s a good question, @leo_scott .
For Windows devices, you won’t need to update the enterprise app every single time. You can use the App Update policies for Windows, where you can specify the target version you want to update to. Once configured, Hexnode will automatically update Firefox when updates are available for it, thereby eliminating the need for you to manually re-upload the installer each time.
However, for macOS, Firefox updates currently need to be handled differently. You’ll need to upload the latest Firefox installer (.pkg or .dmg) to the Hexnode app inventory whenever a new version is released. After uploading, deploy it either using a policy or the Install Application remote action like before. This will reinstall Firefox with the updated build on macOS systems.
Got it, @kylian_parker . Appreciate the help!
