Why does pushing a script via Policy works different than pushing it manually.
can we have the option via policy to store the result in a custom Attribute

This one below is pushing a script to find the SSID via Policy, but no option to store to Attribute

This one below has the option to Store output in Custom Attribute and its manually set up.

What gives?

Hi @jiggieman,

Thank you for reaching out.

Scripts can be executed in two different ways depending on the use case:

  • Execute Custom Script action is intended for scripts that need to run immediately and on demand.
  • Scripts policy is designed for scripts that need to run based on conditions such as device startup, user logon, or at defined intervals.

Currently, the Scripts policy does not support storing script output in a Custom Attribute. We understand the use case, and a feature request has already been shared with the respective teams. Development is in progress.

We will be sure to update you once this feature is released.
