Hey everyone, quick question — does Hexnode allow remote control on fully company-owned devices without showing anything to the user? Basically, I want to manage and troubleshoot devices silently, without any prompts or on-screen indicators. Is that doable?
Silent remote access on fully managed devices — is it possible?Solved

I’ve been wondering the same thing. We’re planning to roll out a bunch of Android kiosks, and having to wait for user approval every time would be a huge bottleneck. If there’s a “silent” or unattended option, that’d save us a ton of time.
I tested this once on Windows, but I wasn’t fully sure how the permissions worked. I did see an option somewhere under policies, but I wasn’t confident enough to try it on production devices. Curious to hear what the official stance is.
Hey folks!
Great question — and yes, Hexnode does support silent or unattended remote control for company-owned devices.
Here’s how it works:
- Enable unattended access in policy
- Enable unattended remote view
- Enable unattended remote control
- Install Hexnode Remote Assist system-level
- Start silent sessions from the portal
Navigate Policies > New Policy > choose the platform (Windows/Android) > select Enterprise/BYOD/Kiosk > Troubleshooting > Unattended Remote Access. There you’ll find:
Turn these on for the devices you want to manage silently.
Make sure the Hexnode Remote Assist app is installed and configured at the system level on the target device. This is what allows the session to start without user interaction.
When initiating the remote session from the Hexnode portal, select “Initiate session without user interaction”. This ensures no prompts or notifications appear on the device.
Once everything is set up, you’ll be able to connect and control the device without the user seeing or needing to approve anything — ideal for fully managed, company-owned environments.
Happy to clarify anything if you’d like more detail!
