We are thrilled to announce a major security update for macOS device management. You can now remotely lock and track lost or stolen macOS devices directly from the Hexnode console, ensuring your corporate data remains protected even when hardware goes missing.
Key Benefits
- Enable/Disable Lost Mode: A dedicated workflow to Enable Lost Mode for macOS that allows you to instantly lock a device.
- IP-Based Location Tracking: A new Enable Location Tracking option in the Lost Mode popup allows you to fetch the device location via its IP address. These coordinates are logged automatically under the Location History sub-tab.
- Granular Wi-Fi Controls: To ensure the device can receive the “Unlock” command, you can now check Allow access to Wi-Fi settings.
- If enabled, users can connect to Wi-Fi networks from the lock screen.
- If disabled, only the Wi-Fi status icon is visible, preventing any changes to network settings.

Happy testing,
