Hi @merlynn and @ace_98 , thanks for bringing this up.
Even though the device is enrolled and appears online in the Hexnode UEM portal, iOS requires the Hexnode UEM app to be installed on the device to relay GPS-based location data.
If the app is not present, Hexnode cannot fetch recent or live location details, which is why you see the message “Location Tracking Disabled as UEM app is not installed.”
Here’s how you can install Hexnode UEM app:
- Add the Hexnode UEM app to Inventory
- Go to Apps → + Add Apps → Store App → iOS.
- Search for Hexnode UEM and add it to your inventory.
- Deploy the app using a Policy
- Navigate to Policies → New Policy → iOS
- Open Required Apps and add the Hexnode UEM app
- Associate this policy with the required devices or device groups
Once the app is installed and location permissions are granted, the device will start reporting location data normally.
Regards,
Clara sterling,
Hexnode UEM.
