Hi all, I’ve got an Android tablet in kiosk mode that’s stuck in airplane mode. The kiosk exit passcode isn’t working on this device, though it works fine on my other tablets. Any suggestions to overcome this?

I have heard that if a device loses internet connection when the passcode changes, it can cause issues. Maybe that’s what happened here?
Hey everyone.
If the kiosk exit policy has been configured, the exit passcode should work. However, if the device had lost internet connectivity before the passcode was updated, the new passcode would not have synced to the device. This mismatch will prevent the system from exiting kiosk mode.
The only solution is to perform a factory reset on the tablet. After resetting, you can re‑enroll the device and reapply the kiosk policy.

Hey @simon_scott , Thanks for the explanation. But I’m curious why the global exit passcode wasn’t helpful in this situation? I thought it should work regardless.
Great question! The global exit passcode only works when no local kiosk passcode has been defined. Once a local kiosk passcode is configured through a policy, that passcode takes precedence.
