Hi team,

One of my devices has a policy applied through a User Group, and I need to remove it from the device temporarily. However, I only see the option to associate policies, and there doesn’t seem to be a direct option to remove it

Could you please guide me on how to remove the policy from the device?

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Since the policy is applied through a User Group, it cannot be directly removed from the device unless the user assignment is changed.

To temporarily re-assign the user associated with the device remove the policy, please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Devices.
  2. Select the specific device.
  3. Click Actions > Edit > Change owner.
  4. Assign the device to a different (dummy) user who is not part of that User Group.

If you do not have a dummy user, you can create a new user and assign the device to it.

Once the device owner is changed to a user who is not part of the User Group, the inherited policy will no longer apply to the device.

Please let me know if you have any further assistance.
