We are managing a fleet of Windows devices in an enterprise environment and would like to standardize all systems on a specific Windows OS build. The goal is to ensure devices upgrade to a defined OS version within a 30-day window for compliance and stability reasons. While exploring the Hexnode console, we were unsure where this kind of OS version enforcement is configured and whether it falls under automated updates or a different workflow.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your use case. Enforcing a specific Windows OS version within a defined timeframe is a common enterprise requirement.

In Hexnode, OS version enforcement for Windows devices can be handled through the Manual/Auto Patch workflow under the Automate tab. For your specific case, it is advisable to use Manual Patch. This approach allows you to explicitly select the required OS updates or builds and deploy them to targeted devices within your desired update window. While automated patching handles routine update flows, the manual patch option gives you precise control when standardizing devices to a particular OS version.

You can review available and missing updates from the Patches section, select the relevant OS updates, and schedule or push them as needed to meet your compliance timeline. This ensures devices move to the required OS version in a controlled and predictable manner.

If you need help identifying the correct update or configuring the deployment, feel free to let us know.

Best Regards,
George
