Well in our organization, we streamline international business travel by first creating user or device groups for employees who frequently travel, then configuring automation in Hexnode UEM to enable data roaming. Within the automation tab, we select the “Enable Data Roaming” action, set the initiation time to align with travel schedules, and associate the automation with the relevant groups. This ensures that data roaming is automatically activated for the right users at the right time, providing immediate connectivity upon arrival without manual intervention.

We have also had such a scenario. To meet compliance requirements for uninterrupted connectivity abroad, we first create a dynamic group in Hexnode UEM with a geofence applied, so devices are automatically tracked when they move outside the defined region. Once a device exits the geofence, an automation rule is triggered to enable data roaming, ensuring connectivity is maintained. At the same time, the system marks the activity as non-compliance if roaming is not enabled, reinforcing policy enforcement. Finally, this automation is associated with the corresponding user or device groups, guaranteeing that compliance-critical roles always remain connected while traveling internationally.
