Device assigned in ABM but missing in Hexnode?Solved

Hi there, I’m setting up some new iPads today. I just went into the Apple Business Manager portal and assigned the Serial Number to our Hexnode MDM server. It says “Assignment Complete” on the Apple side, but when I go back to Hexnode and search for the device, it’s not there. Is there a delay I should be waiting for?

Thank you for reaching out. This is actually normal behavior! When you assign a device to the Apple Business Manager portal, Apple doesn’t instantly push that update to the MDM server. Instead, it waits for the next scheduled sync.

To see the device reflected immediately in the Hexnode UEM console without waiting for the sync cycle, you just need to tell Hexnode to go fetch the latest list from Apple:

  1. In the Hexnode portal, navigate to Enroll > All Enrollments > No-Touch > Apple Business/School Manager > Devices.
  2. If the new devices do not appear, click the Sync with the ADE button.

If for some reason they still don’t appear after the quick sync, you can force a complete refresh of the connection. Just switch to the Accounts tab (in that same section) and click Sync all ADE Accounts.
