Creating policies for a specific platformSolved

We’ve been reviewing our policies in the portal and noticed that some of them show multiple platforms like Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS together. Is there a way to change the platform of an existing policy so that it only applies to a specific OS? We’re trying to keep policies cleaner by separating them based on device platforms.

@zayn_nj , currently, the platform associated with a policy cannot be modified once the policy has been created. This usually happens when a policy is created as a custom policy, which makes it available across multiple platforms.

If you want to organize policies based on a specific OS, the recommended approach is to create a new policy and select the required platform during the creation process.

You can do this directly from the policy creation workflow:

  1. Navigate to Policies in the Hexnode UEM portal.

  1. Click + New Policy.

  1. Select Help me create a new policy.

  1. Choose the platform you want the policy to apply to (for example, Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS).

  1. Configure the policy settings and save it.

By selecting the platform during creation, the policy will only display configurations relevant to that OS, making it easier to manage and maintain.

Got it, that makes sense. Looks like the policies we created earlier were custom ones, which is why they show all platforms. We’ll start creating new policies using the Help me create a new policy option and pick the platform first, so things stay organized going forward.
