Hey everyone, we’re trying to deploy a master Windows image to multiple Dell laptops. The issue is that after cloning, Hexnode treats all the laptops as the same device instead of creating a new device ID for each one. How can we make Hexnode assign a unique ID to every laptop?
Cloned machines are being treated as the same device! Any solutions?Solved

@jayceon , that’s because Hexnode uses the UDID to identify devices. All the clones have the same UDID, so the server thinks they’re duplicates.

Hey @jayceon , here’s the trick: clear the UDID from the registry on each cloned laptop before enrollment. Hexnode will then assign a new device ID for each device.

You got it, @mortimer . That’s exactly how it works.

Oh nice! So, after that, every laptop will show up as a unique device?

Exactly. And it’s a good idea to note the steps somewhere, so you can repeat the process safely next time.

Yep, even a short checklist is enough. Saves you a headache later.

Perfect. Thanks! Hopefully, no more duplicate devices.
