I have an Automation that I have created that should reboot a group of managed iPad tablets, it has been kicking off now for 3 days, and it is only rebooting the first tablet listed in the group Alphabetically.  There are 30 devices in this group. Thoughts on what might be keeping the other devices from rebooting?

Hi @amorris,

Thank you for reaching out.

This behaviour is not expected. We would like to confirm a few things from your side. First, let’s rule out the most likely cause. Could you check if all your devices are supervised and running iOS 10.3 or later, which is required for the restart action to work?

If that is not the issue, could you let us know whether the remote action works when executed individually on the devices?

Regarding your automation, could you confirm if it is configured as follows:

  • Action: Restart Device
  • Settings and Schedule: Repeat at a set schedule
  • Included Group: One group containing 30 iPads
  • Are there any excluded groups?

This will help us understand your setup and investigate why the other devices are not rebooting.

Best regards,

Yesterday I made a bunch of changes in Hexnode, primarily cleanup from just bad device naming, tablets using wrong user names, device groups, etc. This morning I looked at the automation report and it looks like 37 devices rebooted or are pending a reboot due to being offline. Not sure what part I did that fixed it.  We did have managed Ipads in the same devices group with two different “local” usernames, I cleaned that up and put all of them expecting a reboot in the same Device Group, same Username profile.  I would say this is resolved. Thank you for your help.
