Hey everyone! I have got an interesting use case for our iPads at the organization, and I’m not entirely sure if it’s feasible, but I’d love to give it a shot. I need to restart the iPads at a specific time every day to make sure they are all ready to go for the team when they come in.

Is there any way to set this up through Hexnode? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @boris, welcome to Hexnode Connect!
You have a great question, and yes, it is possible to schedule a restart for your iPads through Hexnode UEM. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. On your Hexnode UEM console, navigate to the Automate tab.
  2. Click on New Automation and select iOS as the platform.
  3. Choose the “Restart Device” action under Device Control.
  4. Next, set the Trigger to be based on Time and choose “Repeat at a set schedule”.
  5. Configure the schedule for the day and time as per your requirements.
  6. Click Next. You can add specific Groups if needed.
  7. Review and save the automation.

This will ensure your iPads restart daily at the time you specify. For more information, check out our help documentation on Automation.

Thanks so much, this is incredibly helpful! One more thing, would it be possible to have a specific app automatically launch after the reboot? I feel like it would make things a lot smoother for the employees. Would that be doable?

Hi @boris. Currently, iOS devices do not allow app launches remotely through Hexnode. However, if you enable kiosk mode on the iPads and lock the device to a single app using Single App kiosk mode, the iPad will automatically launch that app as soon as it restarts.
Let me know if you need help setting that up!
