one of our windows devices is still listed in the Hexnode console. Its status shows “hexnode uem installed: No” while “Hexnode Remote Assist app installed: Yes”. What does this mean for device management? Can the device still be managed normally, or does only Remote Assist continue to work in this state?

Hi @mees,

For a Windows device, this usually means the core Hexnode UEM agent is not currently installed or functioning on the device, while the Hexnode Remote Assist component is still present.

In this state:

Full MDM management will not be available. You may not be able to push new policies, configurations, restrictions, or other management commands that depend on the Hexnode UEM agent.

Remote Assist may still be available if the Remote Assist app is installed and functioning correctly on the device.

This behavior can happen if enrollment was interrupted or if the Hexnode UEM agent was removed from the Windows device while the Remote Assist app remained installed. To restore full management capabilities, you will need to reinstall the Hexnode UEM agent on the device.

is it possible to start that reinstall from the hexnode console itself? Or does someone need to manually install the agent on the windows machine?

Hi @mees,

Yes, you can initiate the installation directly from the Hexnode UEM console.

Open the device in the console and in the Device Summary subtab, go to its Enrollment Details. Besides Hexnode Service(Agent) App, use the Trigger option available there to install the Hexnode UEM application again on the Windows device.

Once the UEM agent is reinstalled successfully, the device should regain full management capability. Please let me know if you run into any issues while pushing the installation command!
