Hey folks!
I was going through the Location Reports and noticed something. For a few devices, the serial number isn’t showing fully. It’s displaying like this “1.02714E+15”. Anyone else seen this before or know how to fix it?
Serial number not fetched fully in the location reportsSolved

Hey @remi , I think you opened the report in Excel. That’s why this happens! Excel automatically converts long numbers into scientific notation as it assumes you’re working with numerical data instead of something like serial numbers. So, once the number goes beyond 11 digits Excel decides to “tidy it up” and shows it in that “E+” format.
That’s right, @monty !
@remi , here’s a quick way to get your serial numbers displaying correctly:
- Right click the cells with serial numbers and click Format Cells.
- Head to the Number tab.
- From the Category list, select Number.
- Set Decimal places to 0.
Once that’s done, you’ll see the full serial numbers, no more E+ format!
That helps! Just curious, is there a way to change the date format in the reports to something like YY-MM-DD?
As of now, I don’t think Hexnode supports customizing the date format in reports. Hopefully, it’s something that might be added in the future updates.
