Hi, how can I restrict software installation to admin-only users on Windows? Is there any way to do this via Hexnode?

Hi @harold,

Yes, this can be done on Windows devices using Hexnode by executing a custom script. You can run the script from the Hexnode UEM console by navigating to:
Manage > Actions > Execute Custom Script.

Please refer to the help document for the script and detailed steps:

Hi @raelynn,

For macOS devices, you can restrict app installations directly through a policy. On your Hexnode UEM console, navigate to Policies > New Policy > macOS > Advanced Restrictions > App Store and enable “Restrict app installations to admin users.

This will prevent non-admin users from installing apps from the App Store. For more details, please check the documentation on macOS restrictions.

Can confirm this works. We rolled it out last week and it stopped a bunch of random freeware installs.
