Move devices from the default user to a named user in HexnodeSolved

I have several devices currently assigned to the default user in Hexnode and want to move them to named users. I created the first user and need to reassign that user’s device.

What is the correct option for this? I noticed ownership-related actions in the portal, but I’m not sure if changing the owner will show anything on the device or notify the end user.

Hello @ezekiel ,

You can reassign a device from the default user to a named user by using the Change owner action in the Hexnode UEM portal.

Steps:

  1. Go to Manage.
  2. Select the required device.
  3. Click Actions.
  4. Navigate to Edit > Change owner.
  5. Select the domain.
  6. Choose the user you want to assign as the device owner.
  7. Click Assign.

This updates the device-owner mapping in Hexnode UEM. It does not trigger a pop-up, notification, or visible interruption on the device.
