Monitoring CPU and Battery usage on iPad mini kiosksSolved

Hi everyone. We are deploying a fleet of iPad minis to run our point-of-sale kiosks across several store locations. To keep ahead of hardware failures, I am trying to build a dashboard to monitor device health directly from the Hexnode portal. Specifically, I am looking for a way to monitor live CPU usage and battery levels. While I can find some generic device data, the CPU usage metrics are completely missing. Is it possible for a Super Admin to pull CPU and battery usage data for iOS devices, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

For iOS devices like your iPad minis, Hexnode can easily help you keep tabs on battery levels, but CPU usage monitoring is unfortunately not available.

Apple enforces strict iOS sandboxing protocols and privacy restrictions that prevent any third-party MDM solution from extracting system-level processing data. Because of this hard platform limitation, neither Admins nor Super Admins can view live or historical CPU usage for iOS devices from the Hexnode portal.

You can, however, monitor the battery life to ensure your kiosks survive their daily shifts. To check the battery level details, simply navigate to Reports > Built-in Reports > Device Reports > All Devices. From this view, you can pull up the current battery percentages reported by all of your enrolled devices during their last sync.

I hope this helps. If you find any more issues or need further assistance feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
George,
