Managed apps crashing on AndroidSolved

One of our managed apps keeps crashing on my Android phone which is enrolled as device owner. It opens for a second and then shuts down. Can I try wiping the device? Anyone else run into this?

Yeah, I’ve seen that too. I just restarted the phone and it worked for a while, but then the app started glitching again. Not sure if it’s something with the MDM or the app itself.

Hello @melora ,

App crashes can happen if the app’s local data gets corrupted. Instead of wiping the whole device, you can clear the app’s data remotely from the Hexnode UEM portal. Go to the device in the Manage tab and trigger the Clear app data action for the specific app. If the issue continues, you can also use the Request Bug Report action to capture logs and investigate further.

OkayyI’ve got another issue though on Android 13, I couldn’t grant the permissions the Hexnode app asked for. The toggle was greyed out and wouldn’t let me enable it.

I think Android added some restriction for downloaded apps, but I’m not sure how to get around it.

Correct. Android 13 introduced a “Restricted Settings” feature that blocks accessibility permissions for sideloaded or downloaded apps. To fix this, open Settings > Apps > Hexnode UEM/Hexnode For Work, tap the three dot menu in the top right corner, and select Allow restricted settings. Authenticate with the device PIN, then return to the Hexnode app to grant the required permissions.
