Hexnode cannot trigger the installation of Windows updates directly from the Devices missing updates page or the Patches tab. Even if an update appears with the Installable status, it cannot be pushed manually from those sections.

Don’t worry, I can provide you with the best practice for this. We suggest deploying Windows updates using Automation, which is an effective way to handle updates on Windows devices.

Here’s how it works:

• Create a Windows Automation rule under Automate → New Automation → Windows Automate
• Choose Patches and Updates – Manual
• Select the update category you want (for example: Quality updates, Feature updates, or a specific update)
• Schedule when the update should be installed

If you want Hexnode to pick up newly released updates automatically, you can set the creation date filter to the actual release date. That way, the automation continues applying updates as they become available.

Automation is a useful method within Hexnode to trigger the installation of Windows updates.
