We have several iPads running iPadOS 16.3, and I’ve noticed some of our critical business apps are falling behind on versions. Is there a way to force these apps to update immediately through Hexnode so our fleet stays uniform?

I guess there’s a way to automate it, but not sure what exactly it was. I will just look into it and let you know buddy.

Thank you for raising this question.

The most effective way to handle this is to add the specific applications to a ‘Required Apps‘ policy.

Here is how that process flows through the system:

  • Inventory Sync: First, the latest app updates sync from the App Store into the Hexnode App Inventory and in the case of enterprise apps, they have to be uploaded to the inventory.

  • Policy Linkage: Once the update is recognized in the inventory, it automatically applies to the Required Apps policy you’ve configured.

  • Automated Push: Because the apps are marked as ‘Required,’ the UEM server detects the version mismatch on the iPads and pushes the update command to the associated devices.
