How are app permissions and exact alarm access managed on Android?Solved

Hi TeamI’m currently testing Android 10 and Android 14 devices enrolled in Hexnode and need to understand how to centrally manage the Alarm & Reminder (Exact Alarm) permission via policy.

Specifically, I want to know if Hexnode supports standard Allow/Deny/Ask controls for this permission on Android 14, where the configuration resides within the portal, and if there are specific Android Enterprise limitations I should be aware of during my validation process.

Thankyou for raising this question.

The permissions an app can use are defined by its developer. Within the portal, you can adjust these settings by going to Policy → Android → App Management → App Permission, but changes are possible only if the developer has made them configurable.

For the Exact Alarm permission, the default stance is restrictive; most apps are blocked from using it. Only core system apps such as Clock and Calendar have automatic approval. Any other app that needs this capability must be granted access manually by the user through Settings → Apps → Special App Access → Alarms & Reminders.
