Hey everyone, our organization recently purchased a few iPhone16 devices. We have provided managed Apple IDs to be used with these devices to our employees. The problem now is that the iMessage and FaceTime apps are greyed out in the devices, even though the Required Apps, which were configured under our main iOS policy, were applied for both these apps. It says that there is no Apple ID signed in under settings even though the employees have signed in using their managed Apple IDs. Is there any solution to this problem?

@mike_johnson , I also have the same problem here with my iMessages app. I even tried re-applying the iOS policy and signing in again using my Apple ID, all to no avail.
@mike_johnson and @stevenhere , did you apply the Required Apps policy when you enrolled the devices to Hexnode, using the ADE Profile?
@elliot , It does not make a difference when you apply the policy as long as you apply it to the devices, right? Or does it matter?
Hello @mike_johnson and @stevenhere , when enrolling iOS devices already added to Apple Business Manager in Hexnode, the ADE Profile must be configured with the required policies that will be applied to the device upon enrollment to the UEM. If the policies are not added to the ADE profile, the devices will fail to activate the required apps upon enrollment, even if another policy is applied afterwards.
Disenrolling Hexnode and re-enrolling the devices including the essential policies, such as the Required Apps policy for iMessages and FaceTime in the ADE Profile will let you enable these apps on your devices. Go to the Settings app of your devices to enable these apps. Sign in to your device using the managed Apple ID for using these apps.

Elle Reed,
Hexnode UEM.
