Do Android kiosk apps enter auto sleep mode in hexnode?Solved

I’m setting up Android devices in Hexnode and want to stop a few required apps from going into auto sleep mode. If these apps are part of a kiosk setup, do I need to exclude each app from sleep separately, or does kiosk mode handle this automatically?

Also, if the apps are already added to the kiosk policy and Lock Task Mode is enabled, is that enough to prevent them from sleeping?

Hi @amelia,

In Android kiosk mode, you do not need to configure separate sleep exclusions for apps that are already part of your active kiosk configuration.

The kiosk setup naturally prevents these apps from entering auto sleep on its own, especially when one or more of the following settings are enabled in your policy:

A separate sleep exclusion is usually only necessary for background applications that are not part of your kiosk setup, or for apps that are expected to run outside of the kiosk environment where standard Android power-saving behaviors apply.

Please let me know if you run into any specific battery or sleep issues with your deployment!
