Hey everyone, quick question. What’s the best way to deploy common apps like Outlook, and Google Chrome using Hexnode? Should I push them through a policy or individually?

@penelope , you can deploy these apps easily via a policy. Just select the apps under the Required Apps section of a policy and assign the policy to the groups or devices you want. Once applied, Hexnode will automatically install those apps on all associated devices.

Got it. Also, if I push the policy to devices that already have some apps installed, will it affect the existing apps? Also, will the apps install automatically, or do users need to approve anything?

No @penelope , the existing apps won’t be affected by pushing the Required Apps policy. Apps in the Required Apps list will install automatically in the background, provided the deployment environment supports silent installation.

@kylian_parker , I tried this and the apps in the list didn’t install and also got an error: No applicable update found or application of this version is already installed. Any ideas how to get over this?

@penelope , the error you received comes up when the device already has the same app installed, sometimes under a different package name or variant. This will cause the installation action to fail on the device. Please try executing the action on the device to see if the required app has been installed.
