We have a requirement where the volume on devices enrolled in kiosk mode needs to stay fixed at all times. We don’t want officers using the device to accidentally or intentionally lower the volume. Our deployment relies on high volume for emergency alerts in a prison environment, so this is critical for officer safety.

Hey @tommy,
Thank you for reaching out.
We understand your requirement. Hexnode supports configuring volume controls for devices running in kiosk mode.
While configuring apps in kiosk mode, you will find the Disable volume button option under Peripheral Settings. Once this option is enabled, additional settings appear to configure the Ring Volume Level and Music Volume Level. After setting the required values, associate the policy with the device and the configured volume should be enforced.
If you have any further questions, feel free to let us know.
Cheers,

Leave it, man. I tested this feature a long time ago and it never worked for me. Feels like a ghost feature, honestly.
Not sure why you’re saying that. We’ve been using the same option for years now and haven’t had any issues with it.
I was able to change the volume even after configuring it. I have a device with me right now, and the volume bar still moves up and down when I press the buttons.
I think there’s a misunderstanding here. The feature is designed to force the volume back to the level set in the kiosk policy. When you press the physical volume buttons, the volume might change briefly, but it should immediately snap back to the configured value.
If something doesn’t behave as expected, it’s always better to check with support first. Jumping to conclusions in the community isn’t really fair.
Ah, got it now. That’s on me. Feeling pretty embarrassed here. Sorry about that, I should’ve understood it better before commenting.
